OLIPHANT | PHOTOGRAPHER: Chicago Wedding Photography | Kisha & Todd | 6.18.11

Last month I again had the pleasure of returning to my hometown of Chicago to photograph the wedding of Kisha & Todd.  I have known Todd since 2003, when we both worked for the Adult Cook County Probation Department.  Todd, a Kappa man, was always by far the best dresser in the department as well as an articulate gentleman, he remains an integral part of the department to date.  It wasn't until the wedding rehearsal the day prior to the ceremony that I met his soon to be wife Kisha in person, and I must say my friend Todd is a lucky man.  Kisha, a Public Defender for Cook County as well as an AKA was full of energy and bubbled with the excitement of a bride to be.  She also has one of the cutest voices you ever want to hear.  I was so happy and honored to be a part of their day.  So with that said I'd like to share a few images from the wedding of Kisha & Todd.  Hope you like...

The details....

I just had to include this little guy from the rehearsal.  Look at the innocence and wonderment in his eyes; it's the same look I have when a camera is in my hand....  :-)

That's a look of Love from the bride....

I love the naturalness of this portrait.

That's a look of Love from the groom....

I'd like to thank a few people who made this day so special:

- Wedding Coordinator: Sophronia Barber
- Make-up Artist: Nicole Rogers of Bombshell Artistry
- Florist: Kelly Flynn of Cicero Avenue Florist
- Second Shooter: Joseph Townsend of Townsend Enterprize
- Pastor & First Lady Stubbs of New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church
- and of course Todd & Kisha...

Big Love,
OLIPHANT

OLIPHANT | PHOTOGRAPHER: Happy 4th of July! | Desert Road Trip | Death Valley

For the past two years we've been out of town on Independence Day.  This year we opted to stay put and do some exploration in our area in the form of geocaching and little desert town known as Beatty, Nevada.  Here are a few pics from our excursion.  Enjoy!

Upon entering Beatty, Nevada you'll be greeted by this neat clock that begged to be photographed on this morning.

Kitty-corner to the clock you'll find the defunct Desert Inn Motel.  I wondered if Norman Bates was the caretaker, but I opted for the image above instead.

We traveled about an hour north of Beatty to Scotty's Castle.  Interesting place built in the 20's by a Chicagoan.  The ornate door above was and entrance to the park area that's no longer in use.

A little further into Death Valley we came upon the natural wonder of the Ubehebe Crater, a massive crater that creates a wind funnel that can knock you off you feet if you're not careful.  The One snapped the photo above before I was blown away.

On Hwy 95 leaving Beatty, Nevada, we came upon this vision.  I had to stop the Jeep, take it in and make a photograph.  I only took two exposures.  Sometimes ya' just know when you got a keeper.

Big Love,
Oliphant
